MP wins major Contract for six Alusafe 2000

Maritime Partner signs contract for six Alusafe 2000 with the Algerian Navy on behalf of the Algerian Rescue Services.

The Algerian Navy has awarded a contract to build six multipurpose Rescue craft for their Rescue Services to Maritime Partner As. The craft is a new development based on the experience with the Alusafe 2000 built for the Spanish Rescue Organisation. The craft will be delivered in 2008 & 2009.

The new Alusafe 2000 is a 20 meter long craft built with accommodation for 4 crew and can take a large number of rescued persons inside. It is designed to do a variety of tasks in open sea and along the coastline. It has equipment for towing, fire-fighting, medical treatment and salvage in addition to traditional sea-rescue operations.

The Alusafe 2000 have two MTU main engines, and a driveline fitted with Helseth Propellers. The craft is designed to a top speed of around 30 knots. The craft is equipped with state of the art equipment in communication and navigation.

With this contract Maritime Partner has strengthen its position as a leader of supplying high-speed rescue craft world wide. The Alusafe 2000 is a versatile design that can be adopted to numerous uses, as well as customised to any specific task.
